Indus Net Technologies powers Emami Chisel Art’s online auction platform

Filed under: PHP / MySQL, Emerging technologies, News @ Indus, Portfolio, Technology — Abhishek Rungta at 12:09 pm on Friday, March 7, 2008

Indus Net Technologies has recently completed an art auction website for Emami Chisel Art Private Limited (http://www.emamichisel.com/).

The website streamlines the process of online auction and allows registered users to bid on paintings along with the floor bidders, making it a powerful tool for traditional auction houses. Thus the charm of floor bidding remains along with the convenience of online bidding for people who cannot make it to the floor.

The site concluded its first auction on 23rd February 2008 with sales for the evening touching Rs 240 million (US$ 6233766.23). Tribute to Hashmi crossed the $ 1 million mark, creating a record for any Husain ever sold at an auction, with Internet bidding contributing to a sizable portion.

We wish them all the best and renew our commitment to deliver cutting edge solutions to companies around the world.

On our last project, a complete redesign of a website, it took us months to get the content to them. With patience they waited for us until we were ready. Then we had several changes that were completed by Indus Net without hesitation. I work with several outsourcing companies in India and Indusnet Technologies is always on the top of my list.”

Korean Web Designers: Setting up a new design trend

Filed under: Web design, Portfolio — Anindya at 6:48 pm on Thursday, May 24, 2007

While talking about design of websites, style of layout, presentation, colour theme, imageries/illustrations play vital roles as content, usability, accessibility etc. And we have always noticed a “trend” goes on in the industry and most of us follow the same, some or the other way. For example web 2.0 is in these days and we can see hundreds of sites going for that style.

Korean designers are somehow kept themselves away from this “let’s-follow-the-trend” syndrome and have created their own style. The examples of such web designs can be found at http://www.dbcut.com.

They are fresh, bright, free-flowing, rich (at the same time there are lots of eye space) and colourful. Illustrations are beautiful and informative. The interactivity of the sites are also something to watch for. People can debate about usability and user friendliness, but I think beautiful looking sites with out-of-the-box design style can win the heart of users and get sales as well. You will love to be at those sites and feel naturally interested.

Thanks a lot Korean friends, you have shown that web design can be like interactive presentation as well!

Have a look at http://www.dbcut.com.

Design2Please.com: Web Design Services page refreshed

Filed under: News @ Indus, Web design, Portfolio — Anindya at 12:59 pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2007

As promised in my last post, we have given some love to web design services page of Design2Please.com in last 2 days. Here is a small slice of the page to give you a feel of it:

We thought the page was too busy and less focussed - things were everywhere on the page and people could get distracted. The portfolio screenshots were too small and was not going with the flow.

So, we did the following changes in the new page:

  • Came out of 2 column structure and created a single flow.

  • Removed some bulleted points from the features list as they are quite obvious ones for any custom website created by a company like us. (And we also thought if people have questions they can ask us anytime.)
  • Inserted Dedicated Hiring ™ pricing model option just after the web design packages for the convenience of the visitors. This will help visitors to compare the prices and select what’s best suited for them.
  • Portfolio screenshots are much bigger and so more visible.
  • Inserted the link to web design process we follow. So visitors can also read about our work process before they select to work with us. This will make the communication much clearer. (We are currently redesigning the process page to make it more crisp, graphical and easy-to-understand).
  • “Get Started Now” (Request Free Quote) form is available at the bottom of the page. Previously it was hidden and was only available on clicking the “contact sales” button. Now it’s available to everyone, so anyone can get in touch with us with any question he has.
  • We have made “Get Started Now” form in reverse (white on dark) to make it stand out from the rest of the page. It will also help to indicate that this section is interactive, which is different from the rest of the page area (that’s only for reading).

We will be making many changes to the website soon. I’ll update you. Be there!
